Our Company

EasyRotor, LLC was founded in 2005 by Eric Swanson to follow on previous aviation endeavors that were sold. It was formed to own, operate, and manage helicopters and provide operations and management expertise to other aviation endeavors.
We have been living aviation since 1985. From FBO ownership and operation to air charter, flight schools and heavy repair stations, we have see it and done it. Eric and Amiee Swanson lead EasyRotor, LLC, a family owned business, which is EasyRotor Helicopter & Aviation Systems.

EasyRotor’s principal and chief pilot, Swanson, has built a life around all things aviation. He first flew an airplane at age 13, obtaining many of his licenses and ratings prior to graduating from East Grand Rapids High School in 1990. While completing course work towards Mechanical Engineering, Eric continued his aviation development, working as a Flight Instructor and Operations Manager for a small Fixed Base Operator.
Following a switch to full-time aviation, Eric spent the 1990's building a large Fixed Base Operation which conducted air charter operations at multiple locations, managed repair and maintenance operations from light aircraft to large regional airliners, managed bought and sold over 31 aircraft, and had one of the largest flight schools in Mid-Michigan. This company sold after 10 years of safe and efficient operation.
He enjoys helping other flight enthusiasts fulfill their aviation ambitions.
In addition to his operational and management expertise, Eric is a highly qualified and trained pilot, having amassed in excess of 6,000 flight hours numerous aircraft types, both airplane and helicopter. He holds FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate with type ratings in the BE400 and HS125 business jets, and is a Certified Flight Instructor. He has attended multiple courses from Robinson Helicopter to Flight Safety International's full motion simulators, to specialty aviation related training.
Eric is active in advocating for aviation-related issues, and is a member of numerous related professional associations including the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, National Air Transportation Association, National Business Aircraft Association, Experimental Aircraft Association, Regional Airline Association, Michigan Helicopter Association, Professional Helicopter Pilots Association and the Helicopter Association International.
A native of East Grand Rapids, Eric lives in West Michigan with his wife and children, and comes from a background of physicians and aviators.
